According to Ido, Pinchy isn’t actually a bad guy... he predicts that after the abyssal threat is defeated, humans will then start a war amongst themselves using the kanmusu, and thus wanted to maintain the current abyssal conflict to avoid that .
And the reason he views kanmusu as weapons is because he’d rather have a kanmusu sink than many of his subordinates
