she is actively choosing not to do it in order to be carried by Touma.

Man I really hate that.
Tried to watch this series a few weeks ago. Got to the part of the first episode where this bitch decided she was going to electrocute this guy because he... I don't fucking know, but for all I could tell because he tried to stop some other guy from bothering her because he knew she could electrocute him, which she actually did along with the other guy's friends while they were chasing down this protagonist to beat him. And then she also wanted to electrocute Mr. protagonist.
Christ, what a nonsensical description of events, but I swear the anime wasn't making any more sense. And the worst fucking part of it all being that I knew Mr. protagonist was going to befriend this baffling bitch, probably without even beating her to a pulp first!
Maybe I'll try watching this one again some day, but I'm not looking forward to it.

It's not very obvious, but this wasn't their first meeting. Mikoto already knew that her attacks wouldn't hurt Touma. She is tsundere, but she isn't electrocuting people for no reason. In fact, Mikoto is chased them down to save Touma from those thugs, as his ability is useless against non-supernatural threats (even though he tried to save them from her in the first place...)

The texts are from a famous Chinese Song Ci, A Dream, to the Tune of Chiangch'entse, which was written by Su Dongpo in memory of his deceased wife and is regarded as the finest elegy ever written. But I'm not very sure about why it's quoted here, perhaps it's just the literal meaning.
And here is the whole work, translated by Lin Yutang:

A Dream, to the Tune of Chiangch'entse

Ten years have we been parted:
The living and the deadโ€”
Hearing no news,
Not thinking
And yet forgetting nothing!
I cannot come to your grave a thousand miles away
To converse with you and whisper my longings;
And even if we did not meet
How would we greet
My weathered face, my hair a frosty white?

Last night
I dreamed I had suddenly returned to our home
And saw you sitting there before the familiar dressing table,
We looked at each other in silence,
With misty eyes beneath the candle light.
May we year after year
In heartbreak meet,
On the pine-crest,
In the moonlight!

Been thinking of visiting a chiropractor because I'm so often leaning forward on my computer that my back hurts whenever I walk and have to stand straight, but now I'm getting doubts.

do some stretches.
If you aren't fixing your life habits, all you are doing is just pumping bilge water out of a sinking ship.

As someone close to chiropractors in real life, I'd say you can seek them if the alternative treatment the doctor suggests you is the butchering table, aka surgery. By that point, you have little to lose even if the treatment is ineffective.

More importantly, I'd say it depends if the professional is good or bad, as a bad doctor can still kill you regardless if the activity is legal, if the guy has a valid degree or works in a credible institution.

I've seen them fix pretty nasty stuff, but just like any medical treatment, it's no panacea. People where I live would seek them either by word of mouth from a previous patient or out of sheer desperation, as they are forced to choose between that or get a surgery directly on their spine.

Look for a physiotherapist instead. They can usually figure out what you can do day-to-day to mitigate the pain. Chiro did basically nothing for my back pain but a physio taught me stretches and lifestyle changes which genuinely helped.
