Way back in the day, Danbooru allowed for anonymous comments (and I think posts).
Additionally very many of the Anonymouses you see from Danbooru's early history are old user accounts that were purged when Danbooru closed to the public.
I'm not certain of this, but I'd likely guess your dmail went into the ether as Anonymous isn't a real user, so far as I know.
On the other hand, after searching, we have Anonymous , anonymous , and a bunch of less misleadingly named anonymouses .
I like the fact that Danbooru allows for unicode user names, but we really should have a list of excluded keywords, and disallow multiple usernames that differ only by capitalization.

...Yet he has 16 pages of favourites, 24 comments and one deleted post. His user ID of 12435 does support your theory, though!
EDIT: Ninja'd. Also, I'd misread that as 12345, so no cigar.
Yeah, that's what I just found. The Anonymous I was talking about is the one you see posting most old posts and comments these days. I didn't think somebody could actually register that as their username. Apparently I was wrong.
Also 12435 isn't all that special, wheras 12345 might be. My guess is it actually is a real user.
EDIT: I tend to get caught in these Post simultaneously and edit things quite a bit. Yeah, you got what I was saying.
Just as a note, after checking, true Anonymous (or old purged users) shows up in the system with the username "Anonymous" in black with no link attached (e.g. post #62242).
Fake Anonymous (user #12435) shows up as username "Anonymous" in blue with a link to his user profile (e.g. post #447304).
