- I'm doing away with versions.
- There's a new interface for adding posts to pools. Instead of going to a separate page, you'll instead load a list of pools dynamically. I've also added the concept of active/inactive pools so the list won't be so cluttered. After you're done adding stuff to a pool you can mark it as inactive and hide it (people will still be able to search or look at it). I've marked all the current pools as inactive, if you want to make it active please ask here. I've only tested this in Firefox 2 so far...
- Members can now post more than 2 comments an hour if they mark a comment as Do Not Bump Post.
- Danbooru now has a complete set of unit and functional tests. I will have to go back and add some additional tests for privilege/access rights, but the basics are in place.
- I've tried to make resetting your password and resending your confirmation easier by moving some links around. If you're still not getting a confirmation email, oh well, your ISP is probably filtering out the site.

Oh, if anyone remembers the URL for the cat girl counters, could you post the link? I'll readd them if someone can track them down.

- "doing away with versions"? What do you mean? You're not keeping track of specific version numbers but just modifying the code as you go? Does that mean no milestone releases for people running other danboorulikes?
- The new post limit may lead to "invisible spam" on old posts, but maybe that's just my pessimism talking :)

- I've added the new Contributor user level. So privileged users no longer have unmoderated uploads. I've also updated the list so that if you were privileged before and had uploaded at least 50 posts, you're now a Contributor. Future invites will upgrade to Contributor status. Functionally there's no difference between the two other than post moderation.
- The favorited by list in post/show is limited to the 6 most recent now.

This sounds good, I rather like how you implemented this. This way people can't complain that users who got invites for something other than merit via posts have unmoderated uploads. It also frees things up so that, whatever you do do or don't do with subscriptions, it's already set up so that the two can be handled separately (i.e. you can't just pay to get past post moderation because you'd be priv, not contrib).

It also just sounds better than "privileged".

That also indirectly reminds me, I haven't gone through banning bugmenot accounts lately. I'll go do that.

The only difference is unmoderated posting.

This is logical, because invites can come for reasons other than posting good images. So, actually... albert, can you set it so that we can choose what level a user gets upgraded to? That is, invites would be either "Privileged level invites" or "Contributor level invites".

For example, if I invite someone for doing a lot of translation, that doesn't necessarily mean they should have unmoderated posting. They do certainly deserve the invite for their hard work translating, however.

Ditto on someone offering programming help, or whatever else. We want to acknowledge them without compromising the moderation idea.

And if we do start some sort of paid system, people who pay should be able to be upgraded to contributor later on if they decide after all that they do want to start uploading.

Likewise, we should be able to upgrade someone from priv to contrib if they start posting good images in addition to whatever got them the priv level invite.

The code that determines whether to hide the add-to-favorites or remove-from-favorites link depends on that list, though, so if you aren't in the top 6 for an image, you get the wrong link.

I miss being able to see everyone that's favorited an image, and occasionally noticing when a specific user seems to have a lot of the same favorites as me. =/

If you insist on keeping this change, could we at least have a total number of people that favorited it?

And while I'm thinking about people with similar favorites... Is there any way that "similar users" part could make a return? Like, making the list only generated/refreshed every so often and/or restricting which users it is made for?

I'm not sure that's the best criterion. To me, the two most important uses for that list are:
- seeing if I've favorited a picture
- seeing if another user I know has also favorited it

The 6 most recent don't necessarily include those. In fact, they're most likely to be new users I don't know or care about.

Yes, but as more people join Danbooru those lists can grow huge, nevertheless I, you and others would still like to have that feature anyway so perhaps it could be an option in the settings and be disabled by default for everyone else.
