Uchikake tag clarification

Posted under Tags

Currently, uchikake seems to be the only tag we have for Japanese traditional wedding attire. Its wiki says:

Normally white and worn with a white hood or hat. The pure white uchikake is called 白無垢 (shiromuku).

However, that contradicts some sources I found while researching about shiromuku. First if all, uchikake is often said to be very colorful and to have elaborate design and ornaments (which is also backed up by image search), and that its use isn't (or wasn't, at least) reserved for marriage purposes; other sources also claim that shiromuku is used for Shinto-style ceremony, while colorful uchikake is used in Buddhist wedding and is worn without any headpieces.

I think the wiki should be expanded with that info, but it isn't too clear which source can be trusted more, as I have to rely on the English versions; and expanding it also raises a few questions. Is there anyone here with deeper knowledge regarding the matter? Should pure white wedding shiromuku have its own tag? Also, should separate tags be created for said "white hood" (wataboshi) and "hat" (tsunokakushi)?
