Penetration Tag

Because of a post that shouldn't have been uploaded onto Danbooru, I've decided to search for the penetration tag and read its wiki page, and I've found that it's normally used for posts depicting penetration with "objects that aren't normally used for penetration." However, from my search, I've found that the posts with penises penetrating the penetrated partner(s) are tagged with penetration where the sex tag would've sufficed.

I'm thinking this tag needs to be cleaned up.

Do tentacles count as penises? :/

...Oh wait. Do we even need the tag if we have object_insertion?

The object insertion tag seems broader than the other tag... so I guess not.

As for the tentacle deal, I don't think tentacles count as penises. Well, unless they're penises that work like tentacles.

Okay, I left what I had doubts about, go check it. Actually it all falls into different types of insertion or tentacles. I suggest we remove the tag.

Okay, so now please go check out what is left and if you find posts that do not fall into any tag ( two tags for tentacle penetration, vaginal tentacles or anal tentacles) we already have I'll agree with you.

Well why not? We have the wiki definition and all. I've removed the tag from sex posts, someone just has to decide on the rest. As to whether weactually need the tag, let's just wait until someone else says their word.

We've discussed this several times before, including topic #10231. The tag is redundant.

Well, the duo tag might be redundant... Maybe there should a forum for deleting pointless tags or cleaning up polluted tags? Similar to the Pointless Pools forum.

I would prefer not to have a thread like that because it would encourage people to get rid of tags en masse, which can only cause harm. If a tag is redundant it should actually be discussed (in its own thread) and only removed once that is agreed. Someone mentioning a tag and it immediately getting destroyed without giving anyone a chance to respond is not a good thing.

If there's doubt it's better to keep a tag around until we're sure it's useless rather than risking getting rid of a tag which was potentially useful.

But people are hardly ever interested. It takes ages for someone to actually decide on something here on Danbooru.

By that logic we'd better nuke solo too. It's all 1boy or 1girl.

That's not actually the case though, as solo is useful for finding solo images of non-human/genderless/unknown gender characters. (And also as a convenience for not having to type ~1boy ~1girl.)
