A sarong is a pretty specific type of garment consisting of a single piece of smooth (not pleated) fabric either wrapped or knotted around the waist. post #1104481, post #1441755, post #1477455 and post #1581775 are not sarongs.
If anything, sarong should imply side-tie skirt (except a traditional sarong that's wrapped rather than tied - yeah, traditionally men wear them too - might show up in some pictures.)
That said, the wiki for side-tie skirt doesn't currently reflect its apparently broader usage, and given the small amount of posts it's debatable whether using it to tag all skirts with ties on their sides is proper. In some of the cases I linked, the ties look purely ornamental rather than functional, which is a pretty significant distinction.
I guess I could've clicked every thumbnail on side-tie_skirt, there aren't very many of them. The wiki descriptions are pretty well identical, though.
Does there need to be a tag for all skirts with knots on their waistbands, functional or not? Is there any significance to the presence of ornamental bows on the waistband specifically that some user would miss? Probably the users who tagged those few pictures, I guess.
Probably could just remove the tag from those few images before aliasing.
fakeedit: oh no wait there's this one: post #1500092
that one image might justify the tag
if we can find more like it
how would you even search for that
Updated
Now to change the wiki for side-tie_skirt and request an implication, but not tonight.
