Why is Mario marked as an Artist?

Mario ,as in the Nintendo character, has an artist tag and an artist page. Why is that? He's a video game icon not an artist and it's causing some confusion with another Pixiv artist called mario..

You can always put his full name, or the series he's from. BTW, his full name is Mario Mario (Just like Excel Excel from Excel Saga), and Luigi is Luigi Mario.

But you can always be more precise and put mario_(mario_bros).

It's freaking Mario, he probably deserves dominion over his own tag. If only because people won't think to spell out his full name or to disambiguate him.

The correct tag for the artist is mario (artist) or possibly mario (pixiv54414) but it appears one uploader didn't notice that.

Has Mario been canonized to have that as his name? I thought, in what little I've delved into the Marioverse with, that the acceptance of surnames was a construct exclusive to the televeision series(es).

Considering its the "Mario Bros" I'd say its their last name. Like the "Bush Brothers" would be...uh...George and...Jed?

Could you imagine the co-op? Jeb gets to the gay mariage pit-jump, but falls in. Now George has to make it past that tough section! Poor boy George...
