Fake site?

While I was googling for something related to danbooru, the following site showed up (remove the spaces)

http: //danbooru. idanbooru. com

It looks EXACTLY like danbooru, except it loads a lot of maleware domains and ads. So I'm suspecting that it is a scam/phishing site.

Definitely a scam of some sort. Noticed a link sitting at the bottom left of every webpage goes to this:

http://new.cnzz.com/v1/login.php?siteid=1260870070

Apparently that is a service that provides web statistics in China. Someone figured out a way to make revenue acting as a filter and inserting redirects for people looking for the regular site, though from the looks of it, the pop-ups stop after you close them a few times. It doesn't look like it's a separate server like Gelbooru.

Looks like they're just proxying the site and inserting ads. @albert could probably IP ban their server to shut them down.

Any Mod+ can IP ban. Unfortunately I'm temporarily relegated to using an old smartphone, so my use if wizardry is limited.

EDIT: Silly me, we can only IP ban accounts which obviously wouldn't work here. Posting before my brain turns on in the morning...

I've IP banned 104.24.110.222 and 104.24.111.222 at the firewall level. I'm not sure exactly how much good that will do since it depends on which server is doing the proxying.
