Remove cherry_tree -> cherry_blossoms alias?

cherry_tree/cherry_trees -> cherry_blossoms
I'm not entirely sure why these aliases were chosen to be made, but seems like it shouldn't be.

As far as i can tell it's because it's so popular in japanese art that a cherry tree is represented with cherry blossoms but, as many others have expressed, the tree can appear without blossoms.
Also, the very very popular international version of the tree could appear in an image, the version that has cherries and not the traditional japanese blossoms.

Any other options on this, or could we possibly remove the alias and go through re-tagging the images that just have trees.

How many posts are there with normal, i.e. green-leafed cherry trees with cherries on it?

I can say there are quite a few bare cherry trees with no leafs or blossoms, representing the "joke" cherry blossoms viewing parties that happen before cherry blossoms bloom.

tree cherry -beach -petals -drink -cherry_blossoms only brings back 3 images that show a cherry_tree that can't be tagged that because it would alias to *blossoms.
There might be more in this situation, i don'kt know.

There are over 20k cherry blossoms images and no really accurately tag search for the trees. And i'm not going through all of those manually.

Anyway, that's not the point. why even alias the tree to the petals?

I can't seem to find when this was discussed, but I think the idea was that "cherry tree" was unnecessary because you could search cherry_blossoms tree. I don't really think it should have been aliased, though. Besides reasons already given, I feel like the tree tag is forgotten more in those instances than it would without the alias.

Not to derail this but that depends on how much is needed to be visible for it to be tagged with tree, is only a few branches enough?

Anyway, I agree that it should probably be unaliased.
