I'm assuming you meant that going the opposite way.

rock is too ambiguous of a tag for that. And it seems it's already in use as a tag for the object.

Indeed, it is too ambiguous. Also it should be the nickname -> full name.

They were all tagged "rock" before I added in his romanized name, and throughout the series everyone just calls him "Rock".

I'm not sure on the overall stance in regards to nicknames, but in at least the case of Kasuga_Ayumu (not surprised if most are going "who?", I know I did) we favored using the full name despite her being called Osaka pretty much throughout the entirety of the series.

Fair enough; if Osaka didn't get her alias, then Rock certainly doesn't either. :)

Actually, osaka is aliased to kasuga_ayumu...But, her alias isn't nearly as ambiguous as rock. There's only a very small chance of us ever needing the osaka tag for something else.

Aliasing nicknames to full is okay when the nickname is not ambiguous. Osaka is very borderline, but given how immensely well known the character is, it tips the balance into acceptable.
