Should 'mecha_musume' be redefined?

The wiki page for mecha musume says it refers to "anthropomorphization of hardware of all kinds". Yet, tagged images are rarely based on real hardware. Fully original designs of girls with mechanical elements are more common like post #3932444. There's also mechanizations of existing characters like post #3893287. Some copyrighted characters' original designs are also tagged as mecha musume like sara (gundam build divers) in post #3907076.

What could be done about this ? Should the wiki page for the tag be rewritten to include these or should a new tag be created for them (unless there's one already)?

The original intent of that tag was for things like the girls in Strike Witches and Kantai Collection before those blew up and became series. They had been mostly original characters. Obviously the de facto usage has gone beyond that though.
