Danbooru usually follows the format adjective_noun for tags because, well, that's how the English language works - we don't have tags like skirt_blue or shirt_red because that would be silly and wrong. However, we do have these heart ones.

The tags heart_hands and heart_tail are not for hands and tails, but for heart shapes formed by hands and tails. heart_tail is especially ambiguous, as it sounds a lot like it's describing a common form of demon tail that's shaped like a heart at the end. Swapping the word order for these tags will make them more intuitive by adding consistency with all of the other adjective_noun tags.

I don't know, the reverse sounds worse to me even if it may be more grammatically correct.

"Hand heart" is also how wikipedia calls it.

Personally I think hand heart sounds just as bad as skirt blue. The heart shape requires both hands, so calling it hand heart doesn't accurately reflect the concept. Plus I think everyone just calls it heart hands? I've never seen anyone call it anything else.

Tail Heart seems fine, though. Though isn't that kind of demon tail you're talking about described as a spade, not a heart?

I mean, if it's about adjective_noun order, couldn't it be argued that heart is the adjective describing the shape the hands are making?

The wikipedia article is really nothing more than a stub given how little there is on there. Of the 4 references, 2 of them refer to it as a "heart gesture". Of the remaining 2, one uses the term "heart hand gesture" and the remaining NYT article is behind a paywall, but from what I've seen the article calls them a "hand heart", but the actual quotes from people they talked to refer to it as a "heart hand".

Google though does bring up about 1,540,000 results for "heart hands" vs about 2,670,000 for "hand heart". Although I couldn't help notice some of the first results for hand heart were for a book titled "head, hand, heart".

All I think about this BUR is, that heart_tail is a really bad name, because even though it´s supposed to be a spade, alot of tails are drawn just like a heart like post #4259172 or post #4255275 (both nsfw). To make the matter worse, there are also incorrectly tagged images like post #4252930 or post #4224037. Sadly, I guess there´s no better name for such a tag.

It probably doesn't help that demon tail's wiki describes it has having a heart shaped tip, despite it actually being a spade, or also commonly an arrowhead.
