This has been bothering me for some time so I decided to do it. Names with initials will now be properly punctuated according to the official romanization. I haven't got a good number of big character tags so please add some names if you can.

Given the fact that we require underscores when typing tags and automatically lowercase everything anyway (which necessarily breaks proper capitalization rules for proper nouns), I'm not sure that adding proper punctuation for abbreviations adds a lot beyond making the tags longer. I agree that it's technically wrong by grammar and style guides, but I personally think it looks cleaner and is easier to type without the periods.

It has already been done with other characters, like luciela r. sourcream. I wouldn't be against it.

There is almost zero standardization in regards to using the period or not. Everybody was "meh" back then, and judging by the votes above, everybody is pretty much "meh" now. I'd still like for things to be standardized one way or another, but I won't hold my breath on that.

It makes a difference in wiki pages where we're writing e.g Monkey D Luffy instead of Monkey D. Luffy. Normally we only ignore symbols when they're impossible to type (Black☆Rock Shooter) or when the copyright is stylized in some really wacky way (iDOLM@STER). Ignoring periods would be like ignoring apostrophes or dashes because it's easier.

More of them. Again, going off of official romanizations. And again, this may be incomplete.

Having reservations over Trevor Belmont's tag including the C in it when most official romanizations of his name don't even have it. I would prefer not having the C in the tag.
