Implication: own_hands_together -> hands_together

This was previously rejected because the hands_together wiki says that it shouldn't be used for interlocked fingers but as a surprise to nobody, most taggers ignore it because it's a dumb restriction, there is also the palms together tag. That is unless we want to restrict it to two different people having their hands together but that would probably be hard to garden.

Hm, in that case hands together would basically become an umbrella tag for a lot of various tags like own hands together, holding hands etc, correct?

To be honest I'm not sure if hands together is very useful in that case. We have breast grab vs grabbing_own_breast, hugging own legs vs leg cling etc. Every time we find an umbrella tag like this we've been trying to split it into two separate tags rather than creating subtags for it.

If tags like steepled fingers, interlocked fingers etc already serve as a modifier for own hands together vs holding hands I don't see the point of an umbrella in this case either.

I don't disagree with your points but I think it's dumb for both tags to exist as they are right now and not implicate each other because people will use them together anyway.

I'd rather nuke hands together or alias it to own hands together. Hands together is too broad and combines too many different things.

Was about to say this as well.
Either nuke or create this alias. Might as well suggest it, but it probably needs clean-up if we do an alias.

I prefer an alias instead of nuking, just like we aliased hand on chin to hand on own chin and others. I think that should work well enough.

Alternative then. I removed a few hundred posts of holding_hands but it seems the vast majority of posts for this tag are own hands together, probably from people who didn't know the right tag.

I am guilty of this as well because of the name of the tags.

OK, I took a good look at the tag, and I don't believe an alias is the right answer in this case because of the massive amount of mixed content. Just look at what i removed with little effort.
I think it'll have to be handled like we did bunny girl.
hands_together solo has almost 11k results, a good portion of this tag, so it's a good place to start for cleaning it all up. I'll try to move what remains via D-EX and other scripts, since it needs some human overseeing.
