Added an alias to the OP bur since a space was missing from the tag name.

I don't play the game nor have seen the series, however, based on what wikipedia says, shouldn't it imply dota 2 instead of defense of the ancients?

Finally, the qualifier should be just dota, not defence of the ancients. All our other tags are like that.

The main issue that the first game was Defense of the Ancients, which was shortened to DotA. The second game made the official name Dota 2, with Defense of the Ancients basically only being a technical name. However, Dota 2 is called Dota in short. Here on danbooru, we made Defense of the Ancients both the tag for the first game AND the series (topic #9674). The series being DotA, Dota 2, Dota Underlords, the official comics, and now Dragon's blood. However part of the issue is that Dota 2, underlords, and DB are in their own universe, whereas DotA 1 is still basically a Warcraft 3 fangame using their names and models.

Solution 1: Make a dota_(series) tag for all of dota,
remove implication dota_2 -> defense_of_the_ancients
mass update defense_of_the_ancients dota_2 -> -defense_of_the_ancients dota_(series)
create implication dota_2 -> dota_(series)
create implication defense_of_the_ancients -> dota_(series)

Solution 2: make dota_2 a parent tag for game itself, underlords, and DB with defense_of_the_ancients only referring to the first game.

I'm more in favor of solution 1.
