Danbooru

Tag discussion : catgirl & derivatives

Posted under General

Hopefully short, but it's not already covered, and i'd like to know.

1. Where if ever does the distinction between a catgirl and catgirl cosplay occur for the purpose of danbooru tagging.
1.a does it actually matter given that furry is usually relevant
2. What should be the correct reference to this ( cat_girl, catgirl, nekomusume[ requires addition to existing character tag], etc)
3. would cat_gloves be sufficient, or would cat_boots be required (e.g. 58338 [bottom left])

Apologies for the newbie question, but I've made too many mistakes recently.

Generally the only defining characteristic that has ever made a animal girl a animal girl was the presence of animal ears, though a tail really helps out a lot. That's why the catgirl tag is aliased to cat ears. So I don't think any distinctions currently exist.

I will admit that I have wondered about the introduction of either a fake_animal_ears or animal_ears_hairband tag to be able to separate real ones from cosplaying ones. Though even if it is cospaly, many of them don't have anything to truly indicate if they're real or fake, even when they're fake. You also can't say that if they also have human ears they're fake (thanks a lot Orin and Reisen).
