Alias scope into optical_sight

create alias scope -> optical_sight

Commonly saying, most people associate the word "scope" with long-range telescopic sights found on sniper rifles or DMRs. And not all "scopes" cover very long distances, some of them provide lower level of magnification. Take a look at infrared scopes, ACOG, reflex, red dot sights. Optical sight is the more reasonable umbrella term.

Instead, how about having another type of separate tag for scopes specialized for sniper/hunting/marksman roles (e.g. telescopic_sight)? Originally I intended to suggest renaming, but amount of posts containing such tag exceeds 200. Thank you for reading this suggestion.

Since they're a type of scope I'd say to make optical_sight a separate tag then and imply it to scope, rather than getting rid of the current tag.

Okay, I got your point. However, not all optical sights have telescoping/zooming features just like "sniper" scopes.

There are ACOG, EOtech, and Reflex sight here. Those have smaller magnification power compared to telescopic scope.

ACOG is technically a scope, Trijicon officially labels it as such. For simplification, If it has natural magnification, it's a scope. If it doesn't, it's an optic.
