I think these have the same meaning.

There are a few posts under asymmetrical_earrings -mismatched_earrings of characters that have earrings in only one ear, which are probably mistags of single earring.

While checking the wiki for single earring, though, I noticed it specifically says "only one earring in one ear". Is there a tag for characters having multiple earrings in a single ear?

multiple_earrings is for multiple earrings in one ear.
