Character tags for outfits from collaboration promotional arts

Posted under Tags

So recently people started to give collaboration outfits tags. There's Collei (kiehls'), Tighnari (kiehls') and Nilou (samsung). Usually using the copyright tag like Samsung and Kiehl's would suffice. I do see a reason why we might want to tag every outfit possible, just that before we do, we need to have consistency. And there're probably a million of these out there, from product ambassadors to series crossovers. Do we need them?

E: Just noticed there's also a set of Pizza hut tags.

This tagging for promo alts is pretty much unique to Genshin, probably due to the fact that it's extremely light on in-game skins for a gacha title (iirc there's less than 10 alts on the actual game), but has a ton of promo-only collab and event alts that get decent amounts of fanart

Doing the same for vtuber promo alts was proposed but shot down as part of the ongoing dicussion for making costume tags for them (see forum #241262 and forum #241856), I don't think it's something that necessarily has to be carried over to other copyrights, especially considering that it mostly came out of Genshin's unique scarcity for in-game alts.
