BUR #19623 has been approved by @evazion.
Currently lasers has less than 30 posts, and the application is solely for laser beams.
We do not use plural forms of nouns as gentags, unless for things that come in pairs by design (i.e. loafers) or naturally in large number (i.e. sparks). Papers may be exceptional too.
Do not want to nuke it manually in favour of laser.
