swim_ring umbrella alias

remove alias swim_ring -> innertube

Previous topic: topic #17296.

One need only open holding_innertube (which implies innertube) to realize just how confused people are on the distinction between innertube and lifebuoy.

If we're dead set on saying that lifebuoys are not innertubes (or whatever you want to call them), then we still need an umbrella tag, because at the end of the day user sees swim ring = user tags whatever regional name user knows the object as. It's obvious that an umbrella tag for people who don't care about technical distinctions between the fabric and content of the tube and whatnot is needed. Those who care about the separation can then fix innertube/lifebuoy mistags without inconveniencing the average user.

If you disagree please provide an alternative to this BUR.

Updated

BUR #21172 has been rejected.

remove alias swim_ring -> innertube
create alias swim_ring_(pool_toy) -> innertube
create alias swim_ring_(life_preserver) -> lifebuoy
create alias holding_swim_ring_(pool_toy) -> holding_innertube
create alias holding_swim_ring_(life_preserver) -> holding_lifebuoy

Alternative suggestion that keeps them separate and removes ambiguous "swim ring" terminology. This would also of course require clean up, as the OP points out holding_innertube and even holding_lifebuoy are a mess.

Gonna approve the one that requires the least action. I prowled some grammar and etymology forums in the time since opening this BUR and it seems even dictionary forums can't figure out what the right term for any of these objects is, so I don't think there's any hope that we of all people will ever figure it out. Not even Wikipedia has figured it out, as they claim that lifesavers are the toys while lifebuoys are the safety ones.
