Tagging original and clones (and unimplying Angelina Endfield))

BUR #22057 has been rejected.

remove implication angelina_(endfield)_(arknights) -> angelina_(arknights)

It is confirmed that she's a different character from Angelina (arknights) (source:"https://twitter.com/AKEndfield/status/1736219677758824946").

It was briefly discussed in forum #259061, but we didn't reach an agreement. I'm opening a topic because this seems a topic useful for other copyrights too.

The tl;dr of the argument is that "clones should imply original characters because they're identical" vs "clones shouldn't imply original characters because they're different characters".

I personally think that it should be done on a case by case basis, but I would like to hear what others' opinion on this is.

My stance remains the same as in the linked thread in the case of Angelina.
I agree it should be a case by case basis, but a huge defining factor should be if they're any different appearance-wise, and in this case I see very little reason to keep them separate other than lore-splitting-hairs, likewise with the examples I brought up there. Giving her her own tag naturally, keeping it separate from the base Angelina tag I see no reason to.

Agree with Astolfo. She looks and acts like the original, and even mentions Rhodes Island, so she really seems to just be the exact same person put into a different setting. Keeping them fully separate doesn't seem like something that really helps anybody.

A couple last thoughts:

- I think this policy is flawed, and shouldn't be done. By that reasoning two identical twins should have the same character tag. We already have characters like Fate's Rani XII, Xenoblade's M and N, which, although admittedly recent, haven't been aliased. One could say that Devola and Popola (post #707528) also should be aliased, because they're identical.
- At this moment, there is no way to search for artworks of Endfield Angelina in a base Arknights setting (eg. post #7027877).
- We know nothing about what her role in the story will be, if any. I heavily doubt this myself, but she could take a different path from the original Angelina. The game hasn't even released yet.

This is an implication, not an alias. The whole point is "she looks like Angelina so she gets tagged Angelina".

Not having this implication does not change that. Your example post should be tagged dual persona, so feel free to slap whoever forgot it. Posts that do not have both regular Arknights and Endfield's Angelinas won't be affected by this at all.

We don't tag lore so I don't see what relevance this has.

You just listed two characters that aren't identical and linked a post proving it.

What we already know about her shows that she remembers Rhodes Island, so we already have enough information to believe she is literally the exact same person just in a different setting. Being a clone is just how they're handwaving reusing a character centuries after they should have died.

If it somehow turns out that we were wrong to implicate them once the game actually releases, it wouldn't be hard to clean it up.
