This tag is often misused, I think probably because people type japanese_text, and since that doesn't exist, it autocompletes to archaic_japanese_text.
Your suggestion is too vague. "Archaic Japanese" could be referring to Japanese persons, events or items from centuries ago; nothing about this name tells you it's only for text.
