problem related to barefoot_sandals_(jewelry)
there is a “Footwear” with this name, it is only decorative and does not necessarily have jewelry, but it is necessary to know that it exists.
in the past, this tag without the parenthesis was used both for footwear and for people who wore sandals without socks.
to avoid this, the parenthesis was put and clarified in the wiki that barefoot sandals refers to footwear, in case of characters wearing sandals without socks, use no socks tag.

someone re-created that tag because someone forgot to deprecate the original tag.
to nip the problem in the bud, I suggest the alias, if someone uses it again, they will be redirected to no_socks, the correct tag, this supported by wiki

Should sandals really have a tag for wearing them without socks when that's the norm? It feels like it makes more sense to tag when wearing socks with sandals.

that tag already exists, and it is called no socks
every time someone there is a character that wears sandals without socks you must use no socks, this said in the wiki itself
instead, barefoot_sandals_(jewelery) refers to a shoe with that name, and to avoid confusion, the “_(jewelery)” was added at the end.
the problem lies with barefoot sandals without the parenthesis at the end, it is redundant with no socks, has less post than no socks, and brings confusion with the footwear of the same name, that's why it was dropped in the first place, it makes zero sense to keep it when the wiki itself says the correct usage of that tag.
hence I suggested the alias in the first place, the other option is to nuke it and deprecate it.

no_socks should not be used together with sandals. With the exception of tabi, the default is to wear sandals without socks; it's so normal that there's an entire meme about how dorky it is to wear socks with sandals. no_socks is for something like shoes, which you would ordinarily expect someone to be wearing with socks.

that makes the barefoot sandals tag even more useless.
in that case, I would suggest deprecating the tag and removing the part of the wiki that says “For sandals without socks, use no socks instead”. from barefoot sandals (jewelry)
