Images like that belong under the andon (lighting) tag, though the wiki for them currently defines them as a floor lamp but should instead call them a type of lantern. Going by the Wikipedia link in the wiki they're definitely a type of lantern, including the fact they at least initially were designed to be handheld portable. Googling up the term "Ariake andon" which Wikipedia calls a "bedside lamp", the google results for the term depict the majority of them also featuring a handle design implying the ability to hold it like a lantern.
