Feature: The ability to to have multiple appeals

Posted under Bugs & Features

You do have the ability to appeal multiple posts. Each appeal takes the equivalent of 3 upload slots (per howto:appeal) and will return those slots to you once the appeal either succeeds or is rejected.

In your case, you have quite a few deletions so your low slot count (8) means you can only appeal 2 posts at once)

I think they mean multiple appeals per post.

No, I mean One per person thing on it

I mean, they did make a sockpuppet to appeal their own upload about a week ago.

Yeah, because I like to see good art on this website, but apparently some people think it is not good enough for them

I actually don't think allowing for people to reappeal would be harmful with a cooldown of six or so months on an image. That would also force a fresh set of eyes on it. However, in your case if you're making socks to circumvent the appeal process then you're in the wrong and this is exactly what the limit exists to stop. You've already archived the art, let someone else take a look and decide to appeal it for you. One of the admins also sweeps the deleted images every month or so specifically to save good art that fell through the queue.

Even with a cooldown period, we may still want to set a limit. Otherwise, we’ll have trolls appealing their intentionally bad uploads every few months and the Approvers will never be able to forget about them.

Actually, never mind. The trolls would end up banned anyway and we could always IP ban them if necessary.

I agree with multiple appeals from one account with a cooldown period idea. Six months, or maybe even a whole year, sounds right.

Trolls would not wait for cooldown at all and will just create new account anyway.

I guess I can make it the appeal button work until tomorrow or a week

Would monthly/bi-monthly be that bad?

Proposals with longer cooldown times will be relatively easier to pass. Emphasis on easier.

What about a mix? In other words, we could have a cooldown period and a cap. For example, a 3-appeal limit with at least 6 months in between each one.

6 months sounds pretty sensible to me. I don't think it should really be meant as "another appeal", which is what a short cooldown would do. A 6 month cooldown would make it far more likely that it actually does get a fresh set of eyes looking at it, which seems fair enough.

I would also support a 6 month cooldown. Having more than 1 appeal ever for a post would reduce the stress in guessing when the conditions are right to appeal a post (e.g., how many approvers are active, are any approvers that approve this style of content active) and could reduce the number of users immediately going to topic #7934 before submitting an appeal.
