Arthropod girl/boy implications

Posted under Tags

BUR #43565 has been approved by @nonamethanks.

create implication bee_boy -> arthropod_boy
create implication centipede_boy -> arthropod_boy
create implication moth_boy -> arthropod_boy
create implication spider_boy -> arthropod_boy

Their girl counterparts imply arthropod girl.

I decided to expand this forum instead of opening a thread for each tag because otherwise it would flood the forums with essentially the same BURs repeated.

Honestly I don't think we need arthropod girl post #8064128 looks completely different from post #9517480 maybe it's an unpopular opinion since characters can be ambigous bugs but I'd be in favor of getting rid of the tag and just using the more specific bug types.

While an alternate BUR for voting purposes is possible, what concerns me is the fictional/ambiguous arthropods. What would we call them, fictional arthropod (girl/boy)? I’ve seen someone create fictional whale recently, for whales unlike any existent species we know of.

Well looking at the first page the only one I couldn't place in a broader tag is post #9467458 (though she's already canon-tagged wasp girl). I think any more ambigous girl probably still fits into something like mantis girl or beetle girl, there are only so many recognizable bug parts you can forego until it's just a monster girl.

To me arthropod girl is similar to if we had a mammal girl tag. It's grouping animals that are in the same family, but they look different enough that they shouldn't be in the same tag.

I had in mind one more line for a deprecation BUR. Anyway, I got a search ready to see which posts can be updated with a more specific tag and which ones cannot, I just need to… well, update it.

Just found out we have arthropod too. If it’s too broad, can the posts get a more specific tag while removing this one? I don’t know all the animals there.

Also found arachnid humanoid but it doesn’t look useful and it’s for one character only. That tag can probably be replaced with another one easily.

I don't see it as overly broad as you do, especially as we need something to cover broadly characters that have exoskeletons with segmented bodies and/or segmented limbs.

This. There's a lot of stuff under monster_girl arthropod_girl -bee_girl -millipede_girl -ant_girl -cockroach_girl -moth_girl -butterfly_girl -spider_girl -mantis_girl that wouldn't bee at home anywhere else. And in general, this tag fills the "scary boner" subgenre of monster girls. It's pretty obvious that all these posts share the same kind of vibe.
