I happened to check the wikis for both sitting_on_water and in_water in passing, and both of them mention that they are ambiguous and should be replaced with more specific tags. Should these get deprecated?

i agree that this one can be safely removed.
ambiguous tag whose use case is better covered by more specific tags.
Oh, in water was one of the tags I was going to go garden at some point. The wiki is already written like a deprecation wiki and all the possible variations of it have specific tags.
sitting on water should probably be kept around for the case of someone actually sitting entirely on a body of water as mentioned in its wiki.
