imply hair_visible_through_wig -> wig

BUR #46911 has been approved by @nonamethanks.

create implication hair_visible_through_wig -> wig

I couldn't find a tag for this so I made one.

btw do you think this tag should include all images tagged li syaoran (princess costume) or not? It's a weird one because that wig's design isn't designed to cover the whole hair in first place so I'm not sure

maybe this tag should be like wardrobe_malfunction for wigs? wig_malfunction?

None of the example posts look like "hair visible through a wig", especially not post #917752 to which simply just wig seems sufficient enough. It seems like a padding tag when the only way you can identify a wig enough to tag it (excluding cannon tagging which we don't do for visual things like this) is when the character's real hair or baldspots are visible or they're clearly interacting with it like removing it or if it's an unworn wig.

Not a good tag in my opinion.

Have you checked the wig tag? Most of the posts you can't actually tell there is a wig or not. Every post with the character for post #9778658 is tagged wig but nobody can tell because the wig is the same color as his natural hair.

The point of this tag is that you can actually tell that the character is wearing a wig because you can see the hair under the wig. I thought the name of tag made sense. If you disagree suggest something, I guess, but calling it a "padding tag" is weird when there aren't even that many images that fit this tag.

I went through 33 pages of crossdressing wig and only found 59 images where that I could tag. There's 94 pages in wig so extrapolating there's probably 180 images of the 1.9k or 1 in 10 wig posts. How is this a padding tag?

BUR #46932 has been rejected.

create implication holding_wig -> wig
create implication clown_wig -> wig

okay, so I was going to remove this tag from post #917752 and add removing_wig instead but then I noticed there is a lot of other wig tags.

obviously if you are removing a wig with your hand you're going to be holding it so that does feel like padding to me to tag something with holding_wig AND removing_wig

imho it makes more sense to replace removing_wig with holding_wig hair_visible_through_wig so you don't need the removing_wig tag

maybe this should be called something else like hair_under_wig?

If you can't tell it's a wig then you shouldn't be tagging wig nor should you be expecting anyone else to. If wig is polluted with a bunch of canon tagging where it just looks like real hair anyway then the tag needs to be fixed or replaced if it's unsalvageably bad. Making another bad tag is not the solution to a bad or misused tag. It's still a poor name (and is logically impossible unless the wig is see-through!?!?!? which is what *_visible_through_* tags are mainly meant for) and is a solution in search of a problem.

Wig should be for when you can very clearly tell the character is wearing a wig, so you see how your tag makes this redundant. Wig should be cleaned up if it's no longer serving that purpose of depicting a wig and is instead thrown on random posts of hair because some obscure canon detail said so.

ETA: Voting meh on the BUR because of unworn wig.

Frankly the wig tag as it is is pretty bad. What's the proof that post #9601117 is a wig and not just a guy with long hair? Is post #9565990 a wig or alternate hair length. Is there really a point to having post #9291896 and post #9283182 in the same tag?

I personally don't think wig should be used if you can't tell it's a wig. There are ways you can tell it's a wig without seeing the underlying hair like with powdered wigs, or cosplay images like post #9565990, but this seems like a bad tag.

Yeah I don't disagree. I want a tag for this specific type of images and ideally that would be just the wig tag, but it is not so I'm crawling through the non-crossdressing wigs right now.

imo the real problem is that even if you removed all the implied_wig from wig people are just going to start tagging things wig again in the future, so i think having a tag that is very obvious what it means makes more sense.

btw we do have ass_visible_through_thighs and those thighs aren't transparent!

i'm on the 15th page right now

okay so i think we can all agree that kuroe_shizuku wig is bullshit because you need to know it's a cosplay so it will make WRS angry, but even if you nuked those i still think my tag is valid because there is lots of pics where wig is a valid tag but you can't see the hair under the wig

unworn_wig is obviously one

pics like kirby wig and cats/penguins wearing wigs or characters wearing a wig over a helmet/suit. valid wig tags but no hair

besides powdered_wig there is also clown_wig which is often a rainbow afro wig so you can tell it's not real hair.

btw clown_wig should probably be moved to afro_wig or made super specific like rainbow_afro_wig because there is clowns that just wear a normal afro wig like post #9030021 and characters wearing one as a joke like post #7525991 and post #8971719 i think luffy also wears one in the anime so it's basically a meme?

That's why I said mainly meant for, not solely meant for. That tag also makes sense in the sense of seeing one thing through another thing (though, pedantically, it's more accurate to say "visible through thigh gap"). Sure, you can see real hair poking out of a wig in some posts, that's literally just the wig tag. Anyway there's plenty of examples if you plug that wildcard into the search query but it won't make this new tag any less bad.

I'm not even that angry, honest. I just think this effort is better spent gardening the actual tag if you've reached the conclusion that you need to make a new tag to fix its issues without recognising that it's redundant of the tag in question but that it's not unsalvageably bad that you haven't proposed deprecating wig and providing alternate options.
