I saw one mention in the forums from two years ago about how the Nyota characters in Hetalia should be treated as independent characters separate from their male counterparts and that the author also wanted them to be treated as such, and so I went looking for discussions on whether we already agreed that treating them as such meant there was no use in any implications but I found nothing (perhaps because searching the forums is still the pits for me), hence this BUR.

Users already manually tag the original characters alongside their Nyota chartags in nearly every single post that features them even if the original characters aren't present and the image is just focused on the girls, the Nyota versions of the characters have extremely similar design characteristics and personalities, etc. They are obviously actual genderswaps and not completely new characters that are just the countries but if they were designed as women from the beginning, so I don't see any reason they shouldn't be implied. I actually want to hear other people's perspectives on this though.

Why not put nyotalia instead of male/female? I believe that's what it was called. That way you can easially search for *nyotalia* regardless of gender unless people want a nyotalia general or copyright tag.

Because they already exist in the same universe? I don't really see sense to make nyotalia tag when it's basically the same characters

We normally don't imply genderswapped characters to their base version. See:

...and many more listed in List of genderswap characters.

The reason being that most of the time when someone searches for the female version of a character they're not looking for the male version, and vice versa. It also makes dual persona situations harder to find. But if these characters are already tagged that way, then it's whatever.
