If I'm getting it correctly, a domino mask is a type of eye mask.

mass update sleep_mask eye_mask -> -eye_mask
I'm not sure if sleep masks should be eye masks. I prefer them to be mutually exclusive. I didn't see any posts that need to keep the eye mask tag. Tell me if I missed any.

mass update eye_mask blindfold -id:8117829 -id:9846665 -id:9846647 -id:9846638 -id:9846628 -> blindfold_mask -eye_mask -blindfold
create implication blindfold_mask -> mask
This is an interesting case. There is a subtype of eye masks that cover the eyes like a blindfold. They differ from blindfolds as blindfolds are made of soft materials while they're made of hard materials like masks. This BUR will make them mutually exclusive to both blindfold and eye mask, so we can change eye mask's wiki to only include masks that expose the eyes.

For the sake of my sanity as an actual sleep mask user, I'd prefer to not see masks with eye cutouts in my sleep mask searches. Not only are they not the same vibe, but they aim to serve different functions.

It's the other way around. Sleep masks are being tagged as eye masks, not eye masks being tagged sleep masks. Logically you shouldn't be seeing eye masks under a sleep mask search now.

create implication half_eye_mask -> eye_mask
create implication half_blindfold_mask -> blindfold_mask
Mask over one eye is currently used for multiple things.
1. half eye mask
2. half blindfold mask
3. eyepatch
4. unworn mask physically over one eye
The wiki suggests that it's meant for 1 and 2. But the name sounds like it's for 4 because it's inline with other location tags. Even the mask wiki puts it at the location section before I moved it. I suggest we create half eye mask and half blindfold mask in the same vein as half mask, and keep mask over one eye for the location, which is why I'm not asking for a deprecation yet. A mass update is not feasible because the tag is too messy at the moment, manual cleaning is needed.

Ah lol. Still pretty nonsensical I think. I don't think people who are looking for cool masked thieves using this tag, for example, want to see sleepy girls in pajamas via sleep mask.
From my observation a lot of blindfold_mask is being tagged as head-mounted_display... Would be hard to reclassify those...

I think it would be easier to make eye mask the umbrella tag for any mask over the eye area, whether it covers the eyes (like a sleep mask) or not (like a domino mask).

Doesn't that make sleep masks blindfold masks instead of eye masks if we go by definition? Or are you suggesting blindfold masks to imply eye masks too? Domino mask is not the only type of eye mask to expose the eyes, at least not in the current way we define it.
post #9827777 what kind of mask would this be? I've been tagging it as eye mask + mask on head but got it removed from one of my posts a few hours ago so I figured it might be related to prepping this BUR.

I'm saying sleep mask and blindfold mask should imply eye mask too. That way something like the Silent Hill f fox mask, which may or may not be drawn with eye holes, can be considered an eye mask either way.

Should there be a tag to filter eye mask with eye holes?

Can we make do with covered eyes for stuff like blindfolds and sleep masks over the eyes
