Can I prepare an upload and save it for later posting?

Topic. Can I create the framework for an upload (insert the image file, put in the tags), but then close the page and come back later to upload it? I've tried this, but closing the page will save the image in my "uploads" page, but deletes all the tags.

You cannot. Such a feature has been proposed before, but it had been rejected on the grounds of being redundant, because if you've already prepared enough tags for the post, you may as well just upload it right then and there.

You can achieve a similar effect by keeping a text file on your computer, where you can prepare the tags for a given planned post, which you can then just copypaste. This is a common enough practice that it even has a name, pretagging.

Thanks for the information
