Is there any way to approve my reputation?

Probably one of the best things you can do if you want to avoid negative attention from comments is to switch the "no bump" option—some users really don't love seeing random “Hot” or “Sexy” or other r34-esque comments taking up this page.

Probably the most straightforward way to avoid high negative comment scores is to look at comments with those scores, find out what they have in common, and then don't make similar comments yourself. Also, ask yourself these questions:

  • Am I hornyposting?
  • Am I spamming?
  • Am I replying to a comment from several years ago without a good reason?
  • Am I trolling or escalating a situation that's better off forgotten?
  • Am I typing in a language other than English?

There are others, of course, but these are things I often see that tend to attract downvotes.

It may avoid the initial negative attention, but it's still adding garbage content to the comments. If your main reason for no-bumping something is to avoid downvotes, you should think about whether it's even worth posting in the first place. Just because you're no-bumping doesn't mean your comments shouldn't have purpose.

In my opinion, no-bumping is best for things like adding extra information to posts (that can't be added to the commentary), especially when adding it to several at once. When uploading game extracts, I'll often add the title (and maybe a description if one is available) in a comment while no-bumping. It's useful information, but adding as many as I do would quickly fill up the comment page if I never used the feature.

I think there's some serial downvoters around who'll downvote your comment regardless of content or bump status so you probably shouldn't worry too much about it. For example for some reason my comments always seem to get 1 downvote even though I usually don't bump them and tend to comment just relevant info for the post

It depends. If it's just a couple and even on good comments, targeted downvoting (which is against the rules) may be a possibility, though I'm sure it probably wouldn't be easy to prove even for moderators, who can see how other users voted on comments.

If you're consistently getting a large number of downvotes on each comment, however, then you should definitely check to make sure you're not doing something wrong.

Note that there is a big difference between getting large negative scores on a few posts for expressing unpopular opinions and consistently getting negative scores due to a pattern of low-quality comments.

To try and give you some advice specific to your comments, rather than general advice about how to avoid downvotes, you post thoughts that would probably be better left in your head too often. You're thinking about your own reaction rather than whether someone would actually like to read it or not.

Take your comment on post #8519505. It doesn't add anything to the image, so it's just noise. If someone felt that very simple way in response to the image, they would just think it themselves. They don't need to read your comment about that.
Or for this comment on post #5318837, you're just sort of repeating the sentiment of the comment you're replying to. It's not needed.

Danbooru isn't a particularly chatty site, and it leans away from the social media aspect a booru can have pretty hard, which I think is good as it's single purpose (help people find good, vetted, searchable images), but I think you would prefer a site that has more of that social nature to it. I don't mean to talk down to you by the way, I think this is a mismatch between how you think the site should be and how most other users think it should be rather than some kind of personal flaw, and one that isn't spelled out anywhere so it can be difficult to know what you're doing wrong.

People downvote everything on this site, sometimes just for laughs.

Ignore it.

In your specific case, I think someone who doesn't like you went and downvoted every single comment. You could ask a mod to check, since targeted downvoting is against the rules.
