Creation of 'paywall_cutoff' tag

I am looking for an existing tag (or creation of a new tag) that describes videos or animations that intentionally cut, fade, or blur out before a sexual climax in order to display a paywall, advertisement, or promotional message for full access.

I have not been able to personally find a tag that correctly encompasses this type of content.
The only reference to talk of tagging this type of content in the discord was years ago about potentially using the novelty_censor tag for this purpose (which I personally feel it does not accurately describe this content).
If no such tag exists I propose the creation of a tag named such as 'paywall_cutoff' that would accurately describe these posts for tagging.

No opinion on a new tag, but I think paid reward available + animated or paid reward available + video would give you some of what you're looking for, though that would fill the available two-tag search and it probably wouldn't be fully accurate.

at first i also thought video -paid_reward_available would suffice, but paid reward available by itself does not necessitate a cutoff.

consider post #10291411, where the reward element is a variant of the already full video (here - an uncensored version). another example would be a looping animation clip taken out of a full, paid video. i'm assuming OP is fine with seeing these two categories and is looking for a tag that would let them specifically filter out videos with advertisement cutoffs.

If a new tag is created, one of these searches is one way to find videos for it. Also, the new tag should probably imply paid reward available.

The main difficulty I'm seeing with adding the 'paywall_cutoff' tag is specifically determining when the video cut is used to censor the climax vs when it is being used to censor new paywalled/scenes.

I am putting some posts within favgroup #49586 that I believe would be described by this tag if it were created

The missing part of this topic is the "why".

it disrupts the viewing experience. sure, that means it basically only exists to be negated or put on blacklists, but you could just as well say that about tags like lowres and jpeg artifacts, even duplicate.

already seems to be covered by paid reward available, which is full of non-animated images and image sets that are often have a cropped, faded, blurred or thumbnailed image advertising the paywalled version. For example post #9863904 post #10065663.

As an aside, that's a great idea about blacklisting lowres. It should probably be on the default blacklist so people don't have to suffer through lowres pics like these:

ngl I'd struggle coming up with a worse idea than this

to reiterate, not every paid reward available post automatically includes the type of cutoff that OP is proposing a tag for. you can very easily check this yourself by going to video paid_reward_available.

i'm not seriously suggesting blacklisting lowres by default, nor was i suggesting blacklisting anything by default, i brought up the tags to counter the idea that tags to describe perceived flaws in art are pointless. a better example would probably be bad anatomy. i'm sure next to nobody searches it, but we tag it so those who don't want to see it have the option not to.

Yeah, sorry. I was thinking that a tag indicating the artist posted a less-complete video to entice you to check out the paid version would be 1:1 with paid reward available, but something specific like videos cut short would at least be a subcategory. There is a longer video available tag but it's about this site's video upload limitations.

i think the main blocker with regards to this tag at this point is simply coming up with a good name. paywall cutoff sounds okay, but i'm wondering what the chances are of it being confused for cropped versions of static posts.

some alternative tag names that are more explicit about being for videos could be: promo/paywall_interruption, promo/paywall_cliffhanger

I think paywall_cliffhanger could work.

+1 to paywall cliffhanger. maybe not the most intuitive name ever, but i can't think of anything else that has zero potential for misinterpretation.

is this tag only for animation?

there are lots of series that end in the middle with the rest as a paid reward like post #10409231 and post #10416548 (using posts in case of blacklist)
