Bangs?

Hey.
I've been looking for a certain kind of haircut but I'm not english so I don't know how you correctly call everything but then I seemed to remember it's called "Bangs". So I looked it up and I kind of found what I looked for, but mixed with a lot of pictures without it. I was looking for hair like this one on the front:

Basically, that the hair over the forehead is cut straight. I guess "bangs" is generally the hair over the forehead, whether it's cut straight or not..
So.. is there a tag for the kind of cut like in the picture I posted? Or is there a certain name for this kind of cut?

"Bangs" refers to any hair over the forehead regardless of how it's cut, and the tag bangs reflects that. As for straight squared-off bangs, I'm not aware of any name for that specific cut, nor do I think we have any tag for it.

That also in addition to the bangs has implications involving long hair length and stepped side-locks. The sample provided actually is a good example of a hime_cut, but I was under the assumption he was referring to the bangs style independent of the other features.

I love the hairstyle described by Kyaaa. Especially when it is part of a bob_cut or similar -- cf. post #501404, for example.

Tsuyuri of Doujin Work appears to wear a hairstyle crossing over a bob cut and a hime cut.

O native speakers, what do you think of the term blunt bangs, explained in the English Wikipedia article on bangs?

I had never heard the term "blunt bangs" before this. Maybe it's some hairstylist jargon?

I too like this hairstyle short, but despite being a native speaker and searching for a while yesterday I couldn't find any established term for it.

Google image searching "blunt bangs" seems to work fairly well though, despite me coming across the term yesterday to mean something else. I say it's as good as anything else, and we can change it if need be.

Wow, thanks. the hime_cut fits it pretty well. Didn't think there was a tag like that and even with that many pictures, all pictures I've looked at before didn't have that tag.
But it's true what Shinjidude said, I was just talking about the bangs that should be cut straight, the sides could be either way. Guess there isn't a tag for this but I won't complain, the hime_cut is serving a lot of posts so that helps a lot. Thanks a lot for the answer.
If there is actually one where it's only about the bangs being straight, let me know anyways please.

Well, as you find those, why not go ahead and tag them blunt_bangs as you go along? We don't seem to have a tag for it at the moment, and now's as good a time as any to start.

It would be nice to have different style of bangs as tags.
I hate hime_cute since ALL you get is K-on, literally. So it's very pointless.
fringe_cut_bangs or just fringe_cut, side_swept_bangs or just side_swept (see human Kuma_(persona4)), parted_bangs, chopped_bangs or messy_bangs.
And there are bangs like how Tifa_Lockhart has her's styled, not sure what you would call it but it looks like it's been cut in half.

Well, thats not a problem with hime_cut, its just that the most popular character from K-On is the most recent popular example of a Hime Cut.

Granted if hime_cut -k-on isn't enough, and you aren't priv+, it could be a problem.

Hime Cut is what the cut sideloc hairstyle is (Japanese wise), to call it bangs would be incorrect. I logged out and see that hime_cut -k-on does indeed work, you just need to add a minus sign to eliminate other tags.

To the original post, how about "blunt-cut bangs"?

Why add the extra word though? "Blunt bangs" has six times the instances on Google than "blunt-cut bangs"

It's just a Suggestion, and I figured it would make the tag more obvious. Regardless of the name it is the same type of style. And I wasn't even paying attention to Google results until you brought it up.

Started blunt_bangs tag with the picture I posted. You can call it blunt_bangs while it's a hime cut, right..?
Edit: Technically, all the hime cuts would also have to get the blunt_bangs tag then though..that'd be over 2000 posts..
