BUR #59854 is pending approval.

create alias kilij -> nomadic_saber_(weapon)
create alias shamshir -> nomadic_saber_(weapon)
create implication nomadic_saber_(weapon) -> saber_(weapon)
create implication shashka -> saber_(weapon)

Kilij and shamshir are the same sword. While there are a few characteristics associated with each "type" of this sword, for example kilij usually have a wider tip with a false edge while shamshirs don't. But there are just as many swords called kilij that don't have a false edge and shamshirs that do. In truth these are all arbitrary things people come up with to try to differentiate these weapons, they're both the same thing. There is no reason for these weapons to be separate tags, and they should be merged into one tag.

Talwar is while of the same origin as shamshir and kilij, it has a distinct enough grip that I don't think it should be the same tag as the previous swords. However, it is part of the same family of swords, and is usually included in conversations about these swords, and so it could be included in that single tag. Especially since there's only a single post tagged with it.

Shashka is also a sword that originates from Turco-Mongol sabers, however again, it is distinct enough that it shouldn't be in the same tag in my opinion.

Before it gets said, I don't think just tagging them with saber and nuking these tags is right. Aside from Polish and Hungarian sabers, European military and dueling sabers especially late period ones look quite different from Middle Eastern sabers and a distinctive tag is necessary for them.

In any case all of these weapons should imply saber as they are all sabers.

I made the tag nomadic_saber_(weapon) as it was also used by non Turco-Mongols after the Turkic/Mongol conquests and is also a name used to refer to this type of weapon. Scimitar would be good actually but it is used for a different purpose on Danbooru, it's used for the broadly Middle Eastern fantasy sword, and so I don't think it's apt.
