Tag Implication?: if_they_mated -> what_if

Possible if they mated -> what if implication?

What if is a fairly generic hypothetical situation where anything that never happened in a series is explored, but if they mated is very specific where two characters produce a fictional child. It still fits as a what if situation in that it never happens in actual canon and is artistic license at work.

If the definition of what if is what you say it is we may as well nuke it because it will apply to like 20% of the site.

As it is, what is the purpose of the [[what_if||what if]] tag as it stands?

It has no use without much knowledge of the copyright. I cant think of a reason anybody would use it for searching (which is the purpose of tags realy). It could possibly be turned into a pool but it should not be a tag.
