We decided to keep two_side_up distinct from twintails, and one_side_up is not much different. Requesting removal of implication.
While I'm at it, people need to stop typing "former is a type of the latter" as a reason. It's just as intellectually lazy as "obvious."
I can't really agree with the two_side_up decision. All posts I see with that tag are what 99 out of a 100 people on danbooru would identify as twintails.
There's a learning curve with every new tag. Searching two_side_up -twintails gives over 70 pages of results, so I'd say people are adapting well.
Most two_side_up are still just twintails where the artist was too lazy (or didn't know better) to draw correct hair.
So? What the artist does is a non-issue if we have solid guidelines for a tag, which was hammered in forum #68606 and outlined in forum #69101.
Hmm, I had glanced through the tag first but I guess something like post #1175138 really doesn't make sense as a ponytail - way too small.
Removed.
Okay, undid my tag edits. Goddamn, trying to find things in my tag history makes me want to kill myself. I would do anything for the ability to search tag history and only bring up when I added or removed a given tag but I understand it might melt the servers.

But yes, definitely this. They do not have to be mutually exclusive. Plenty of those one_side_up images are clear side_ponytails, but let's have them tagged manually.
seems related:
create alias two_sides_up -> two_side_up
they refer to the same thing and could easily miss the 's'.
