New mail / New forum posts notices broken in Safari?

They're broken for me, at least. "New mail" never pops up, even when I do have mail; and the Forum link is always bold, even when I've read all the threads.

I just realized this may be because pages are cached for everyone now.

But it worked in Firefox.

I can't be the only Safari user here. Would someone be so kind as to post whether he's seeing the same problem or not?

It's more likely than you think.

The mail notice seems to work here. Not sure what you mean about the forum, though -- the link to the forum is never bold for me, but the individual threads are. Those go back to normal once read, however (though it seems like every thread before that one does too).

I use OS X but I don't care for Safari.. Sorry :(

Then you should have said nothing. Now I know that you could have taken thirty seconds to check, but chose not to, and instead wasted time telling my that you don't care. You're looking like a complete asshole.

Ok, the problem was that I had turned and left on "Private Browsing" inadvertently. I just disabled it, and everything works fine again. I guess it interferes with those cookies.

If you've sent me an email and haven't gotten a response, you might get one now.
