tag help: hairpods

post #1334017 made me ask, what are yami's hair_accessories? they look like hairpods similar to souryuu_asuka_langley's. however konjiki_no_yami hairpods return 0 result. similarly souryuu_asuka_langley -shikinami_asuka_langley hairpods only have 4 results. should posts be tagged as such? or plain hair_ornament is sufficient? thanks.

I don't upload much of Asuka but when I do I tend to go with hairclip. Granted I'm not sure if it should be hairclips but I gotta tag something.

I wouldn't be opposed to hairpods though.

I do tag those as hair_ornament.

Interface_headset would be a great tag for the Evangelion ones. I'm surprised nobody came up with something like this already.

thanks for input guys. our cousins in another booru seems to be using hairpods and the great majority of posts is from asuka. i'm inclined to use interface_headset now as it appears to be what they're properly called. and interface_headset incidentally should also apply to other eva pilots.

just to add, neon_genesis_evangelion hairpods yield 5 results from 2007 up to now used by 3 users only (i was surprised i was just the 2nd person to use hairpods back in 2011-10-15 ). would it be alright to continue using hairpods as well or will it cause an unnecessary pollution?

and are yami's hair_accessories enough to be called just as hair_ornament?

I'd say hairpods shouldn't be used for that since those are just a hard bun_cover.
Yami's are something like hard scrunchies, absolutely a hair_ornament. I have no idea what else to call those.

I think interface headset is a step too far, visually they're hair pods regardless of what their actual function is.

Hairpods look noticeably different from Asuka's hair accessories, just look at post #1174185, post #250591, post #233783, post #82709. If anything, her hair ornament looks more like hairclips.

Making new tag for it is fine, I suppose, but interface_headset is too specific IMO. Something more general, that can also be used outside of NGE franchise would be nice.

interface_headset IS referenced by a lot of non-Eva-characters fanart though.

I always just tag them as hairclips. I'm undecided on interface headset, we do have the franchise specific plugsuit, but this one seems a bit obscure. It's also sort of redundant in that they either always exist with the character (Asuka / Mari), or they are only really worn with the plugsuit they match.

It can be used outside the franchise. Like for the Abh tiara that is an interface to their spatial organ. Still, it could be more general if we get rid of the headset part and use something like neural_interface.

I like neural_interface, it's more broadly applicable and self-descriptive.

i have nothing against the tags previously mentioned. but the question is which is the right one to avoid bloating other tags and avoid finding unique posts harder.

the argument against hairpods seemed to be that asuka's hair_accessories aren't (consistently) round or large enough to be called 'pods'. add the fact that 3 taggers only used this in the last 6 yrs. how about the hair_accessories paired with the test_plugsuit? are those things with wire frame and glow-in-the-dark 'part' of the test_plugsuit itself?

hairclips seemed to be used by more users, but still much more don't go beyond hair_ornament. personally, my idea of hairclips is like that of miki_sayaka. examples are post #58735 post #62529 post #101667 which are trickier to locate. but again, hairclips come in all shapes and sizes. if these things are hairclips and those standard hair_accessories (interface_headset) asuka uses are also hairclips then isn't it no different using plain hair_ornament?

interface_headset and neural_interface both seemed fine. while looking more at it, doesn't it require some sort of meta-knowledge knowing how an item works? like in post #47758 . i just assume this is the tiara we're referring to because i'm unfamiliar with abh. in any case, i'm in favor of expanding the definition any of these two, so that it will be not be /nge too specific.

The tiaras shown in post #47758 are the ones mentioned. Some metaknowledge is involved, which is suboptimal.

I dunno, I feel like hairclip, which already implicates hair-ornament, is adequate (for the original version at least). Sure it drops specificity, but that specificity is all meta-knowledge.
