The events pictured here are happening somewhere around the end of XIX century. The Next episode, canonically is: "Vampires go on a rampage." I really hope yokochou decides to tackle this.

However, from what I read, I had pictured Patchouli arriving when they were already into Gensokyo. But I think the official timeline is fuzzy enough to allow all this.

Regarding the SDM arrival a short time after the barrier closing, I *think* it comes from here: http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Perfect_Memento:_Reimu_Hakurei
At the vampire incident it's implied that the "vampire" (revealed to be Remilia a couple of paragraphs below) caused a rucus when the situation pos-barrier got too hectic for the youkai.
