... Actually, all things considered, if I look back at that, I have doubts that the author was planning on this, either.

Reisen looking at Sakuya, and thinking seriously about her relationship with Youmu for a moment makes no sense if you
are just going to go "just kidding" a few more panels down the road. (It also implies that Youmu fully understands a forming love triangle that is growing with her in the middle... which is terribly out of character for Youmu.)

I'm smelling the scent of an author that either wrote himself into a corner and pulled a "it was all a dream" twist to retcon it all out of existence, or decided that he had done enough fanservice filler, and just wanted to get back to the real plot as abruptly as possible.
