It might not, but that won't necessarily stop Marisa from trying, or Alice and Patchouli from competing with her.

She was being slightly sarcastic. It could be that Rinnosuke *thinks* he's her brother, but is in denial himself. Which, of course, would be wholly normal given the age difference and their familiarity.

personal theory on the matter is that, bringing up what was mentioned in +Remilia, Rinnosuke became the right hand of Mr. Kirisame as part of his business, and he planned to have rinnosuke Marry Marisa, but right now she's too young (basing this on the fact I still don't know if the girls are supposed to be in high school or college). The reason Rinnosuke called Mr. Kirisame "dad" in the first 3+1 is because the man already sees him as his son-in-law, and Rinnosuke promised not to touch marisa until she came of age, but she doesn't see it the same way and is trying to Keep rinnosuke to herself, despite all these other girls showing interest in him.

besides, it was implied in +Keine that Marisa has known rinnosuke since she was a kid, futher offering proof she's the daughter of the wealthy businessman mentioned in +remilia, and in the future +kaguya, I recall patchy and Alice making a snarky remark at Marisa about her coming from a particularly well-off family.

So from all of this, we can gather that maybe Mr. Kirisame has a marriage contract written up between Rinnosuke and Marisa, or, if those aren't really a thing in japan, he promised his daughter's hand to Rinnosuke once she came of age, but Marisa doesn't know about it right now, and to her Rinnosuke is just like her first crush, since she's known him since she was little, and it seems like he's always been very kind to her, judging from some of the things she's said about him in various chapters.

That's my headcanon, at least.
