Yes. She's supposed to be Ayaka's older sister and Saber's master in the previous War. She went a little nuts and started to sacrifice girls including Ayaka to the Holy Grail. Then she killed her own father when he tried to stop her. Then Saber finally betrayed her, stabbed her and dumped her corpse into the Holy Grail. Then it turns out she isn't quite dead yet.
She's essentially the proto-Ilya, proto-Iri, proto-Kiritsugu and proto-Kotomine all in one. Mindblowing isn't it?

In retrospect, dumping the body of your insane former master into the Holy Grail was NOT a wise thing to do, Saber.
