So, is this going to be one of those stories where a powerful character loses said abilities, gets tormented by her former victims, learns a lesson and then returns to normal, only to increase her brutality?

Well, obviously it's not for sure since the series hasn't even been finished yet, but I would assume so. I would guess that at best, the eventually restored Yuuka will be nice to any who treat her well in her child form, and wreak unholy vengeance upon any who taunt/toy with her... such as Aya.
