Because its turn based and thus niche, and the last time they tried doing it in a not-niche way it bombed.

Make it niche, we all win.

They could just give it a new combat system? Like Valkyrie Profile, that one was really on to something with the simultaneous attacks.

It didn't bomb because it was non-niche. It was still very much a turn-based game, it was just turn-based with an incredibly weird interface and an almost Roguelike-without-the-randomization style of gameplay.

If anything, Dragon Quarter was MORE niche than the games before it.

Turn-based is hardly niche in Japan, where for example having "Dragon Quest" on the box is license to print money. It's just that Capcom's stupid.
