For such a delightlfully goofy comic you really are expected to have a wide set of knowledge to make sense of a lot of it. It's no wonder you have to do some digging when you translate.
I know Kogasa is suppose to be The Little Matchstick Girl in this arc, but seeing her in the last panel makes me think she is cosplaying as Little Red Riding Hood.
