The artist states that the pink version is suppose to be Lapis' sister.

There was a contest which was open to names for Lapis' sister, the name ended up being Merli. However, Merli has no official design and the artist here created an original version. And also, no name is stated in the tags or description.

Plus the design here doesn't seem to fit the personality released by the company.
