Time to see how much he gained over the Bostonian weekend...

Or, as the case may be, lost.

    That's Colombia pose, isn't it?
Also, much stress could easily make you lose weight. The only drawback is that when you finally can relax, your body decides to prepare for next emergency, and you could quickly gain twice or trice as much as you lost :3

I was a little nervous, since I'd eaten a fair amount in the U.S. But I won! :-)

Reader-added tags include "NITORI brand scale", "How'd you slim down, Kogasa-san?", "Americans say, 'I don't get it'", "Colombia", and "It's thanks to the veggies (french fries)".

The survey looks for his secret:

In order not to gain weight...
    • Exercise
    • Don't eat
    • Consider the content of your meals
    • Don't do anything
    • Doctor the scale

Probably just dehydrated from the long trip back... 1kg is well within the fluctuations in carried water. I had a friend who recently claimed that his appendix weighed -8 lbs... because he'd gained 8 lbs when they took it out (which is to be expected, because they naturally filled him up with saline solution which is a double whammy... if you have a weigh in coming up, avoid salty foods, because you'll just hold onto more water to balance out the salt).

Kogasa-san lost weight? Huh. I think I only put on a couple pounds (which, considering what I ate, is pretty amazing). Looks like Kogasa-san is safe to dine another day! Maybe the magic was in sleeping through the flight. Can't eat the in-flight meal if you're sleeping, right?

For the poll, in order not to gain weight, exercise. It's a classic approach, and it works. Don't need a magic pill (or Eirin) to keep weight off. Just have to engage in a little hard work and discipline (or marry someone like Sanae-san).

Well, good thing Kogasa-san didn't do what I did when I first visited the US. I made a point of eating at as many different fast food joints as possible, and gained ~10 pounds in 8 days

Cons will do this to you every time. You're lucky to get one good meal in you per day.

Try AX sometime. If you eat from the food trucks--well, you're doing it right, but it also means all your meals are going to be greasy, questionably clean, and taken standing. Not a good combination.

Well depending on were you go to eat here in the USA, you might consider the content of your meals.

Believe it or not, Americans aren't the fat pigs the media would have us believe. They claim one in four are obese, but really, go out and look for yourself. Tell me, how many fat people? Way less than a full quarter. Way, waaaaay less.

Of course, the problem also is that they don't discriminate between body fat and muscle for their definition. You know Michael Jordan? Yup. Obese. Our country does have a problem, but it's not a fat problem... the problem is that our leaders are stupid, and that the media's even dumber for believing them. =_=

So true. Although I know quite a few people who are honestly FAT, it's nowhere near as bad as what the media lets on.
I remember back in the day they had nothing better to do than call me fat. They said I was 40 some lbs overweight, but ignored the fact I commonly ran around with 100+ lbs over my head and was wanted as a lineman for 4 different local football teams for being known to bluesky 310lb guys. BTW, I was 5'11", 158lbs, predominately Asian, and my Racial BMI stats indexed me as 20+ lbs underweight.
Seriously, who in their right mind would say a Asian-American (mixed-blood) standing at 5'11" should weigh 118lbs?
'Course, I can't claim that now. Freestyle MA has it's drawbacks...
I used to go through my summers (training for that Freestyle MA) eating nothing but the worst fast food available and didn't gain any weight. 3 Big Macs, 4 Ex. Large orders of Fries, Ex. Large Coke plus desert at one setting, or a BK equivilant if there was one in the area. I actually lost 5lbs and they told me to eat more...
    ...I miss those days.

Indeed. BMI is a joke. It just takes your height and weight as its determining values, it completely ignores fat to muscle ratios, which anyone with a working brain can tell you is the most important part.
